HERMITAGE, PA. —
After ten months in public beta, on-demand retail community Yerzies.com unveiled today a revamped online store and a new tee-shirt design contest to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the popular Brady Bunch television series.
"After our successful Star Trek and Planet Earth design contests earlier this year, The Brady Bunch will kick off a long list of design contests that we'll be hosting for major entertainment and consumer products brands in coming months," remarked Scott Killian, Chief Executive Officer. "I grew up with the Brady Bunch so this particular event brings back a lot memories for me. It's hard to believe it's been 40 years!"
Users have until October 13th to create and submit Brady Bunch tee shirt designs memorializing their favorite episodes from the show. The user community at Yerzies will vote to select the winning design from a group of finalists selected by CBS and the winning submission will receive $500. The voting begins on October 20th when all finalist designs will be offered for purchase at http://www.yerzies.com on tee shirts and other apparel items.
In addition to new design contests, the company has also expanded its licensing relationships with entertainment and consumer properties, allowing consumers the opportunity to customize their own products featuring these iconic brands. Licenses now exceed 40 properties including children's brands such as Thomas & Friends and Mr Men and Little Miss and venerable consumer products brands including General Motors and Coca-Cola. This customization has also been extended to a greater assortment of product categories including bags, electronic device skins and wall art.
"As we continue to extend customization to a more diverse group of brands and a larger variety of product categories, it's important that we also present design and product combinations according to various market segments," said Killian. "For this reason, we've created YerKids, a sister brand to Yerzies where we've consolidated all of our kid-appropriate brands and designs. Users can switch between Yerzies and YerKids and retain the contents of their shopping cart. Likewise, customer accounts are accessible at both stores."
The overhauled Yerzies.com store also features an improved shopping experience and stronger emphasis on category navigation. "We listened very carefully to users during the ten months we were in beta and incorporated as much of this feedback as possible into the overhauled site," commented Tim Brule, Chief Operating Officer. "Because of the sheer volume of product combinations we can offer consumers, we needed a more flexible shopping experience that allows us to present these options according to gender, color preferences and apparel sizes. The result is a greatly improve shopping experience that better showcases the brands who have trusted us with their valuable intellectual property."
