FanBuzz Founders Announce New Venture

DemandMade Enables Mass Customization for Retailers and Consumer Products Brands

HERMITAGE, PA. — eBusiness pioneers Scott Killian and Tim Brule have reunited to form DemandMade, a provider of technology and managed services for consumer brands and retailers who wish to offer personalized or mass customized products and factories who assemble made-to-order consumer products.

The company quietly assembled an engineering team in the first half of 2005 and began several test partnerships last fall including Illinois-based apparel decorator Exclusive Pro and e-commerce outsourcing provider SureSource.

Termed by Stan Davis in 1987, Mass Customization is based on the idea that products can be tailored to the preferences of individual consumers at near mass production speed and efficiencies. DemandMade was formed to help make this process possible by uniting the supply chain including brands and marketers where dynamic products are defined and the facilities where these products are produced or assembled.

DemandMade is a suite of web-based applications which are made available through a usage-based pricing model to brands, retailers and the factories where consumer products are manufactured or assembled. These applications can be used together or with other applications to streamline the process of offering mass customization including:

- Defining dynamic products including rule sets for attribute combinations

- Merchandising dynamic products using rich media or other methods

- Enabling brands with a single place to control mass customized product lines across multiple sales channels.

- Empowering licensors with total control over trademark and rights usage

- Uniting retailers with factories who assemble or produce made-to-order products

- Streamlining the management of component inventory and product assembly with lean, flow-based manufacturing

- Reporting systems which provide retail intelligence on how consumers interact with dynamic products
