Background: Exclusive Pro partners with leading apparel brands and multi-channel retailers to develop and execute retail programs consisting of personalized or made-to-order (mass customized) apparel items. These services include single-piece, on-demand garment embellishment programs and private labeled, direct-to-consumer fulfillment.

The Challenge: Exclusive Pro began as a licensee of the National Football League and the company built its reputation on decorating officially licensed sports jerseys with any player name and number. However, the addition and subsequent growth of other on-demand apparel programs strained the company’s ability to scale using traditional, manual processes.

The Solution: In 2005, DemandMade worked closely with Exclusive Pro to update the company’s order process flow to a lean solution using our Factory process application. This Web-based set of tools and managed services allows Exclusive Pro customers using our Gateway application to manage their blank garment and component inventories in real-time, pass orders for customized or personalized items electronically and cancel or modify in-progress orders. It also allows Exclusive Pro to offer new services including private-labeled drop-shipping of completed orders with electronic order confirmation.

The Result: DemandMade’s Factory application and managed services have shaved considerable delivery time off customer orders, reduced order processing errors and allowed Exclusive Pro’s customers to sell deeper in the busy holiday season. With the introduction of auto-sew capabilities in 2006, the company will add scalable production capacity, allowing them to increase production volume without the need for highly trained manual sewers.
